The Cher Horowitz edit!

This is the day I woke up and decided to dress like Cher Horowitz from Clueless. I grew up watching this movie and sometimes, even now at 30, I sit down and watch it whenever I need a pick me up. This movie totes shaped my life…like literally! It’s totes a 90s cult classic! I’m always quoting this movie!

Side note…can we take a moment and rave about how awesome Cher’s closet was?! I mean, hello! Not only was it organized by color, season and type of clothing, but it was also accompanied with a fancy computer program that helped her choose outfits. It was the biggest pivoting closet system I’ve ever seen. I was so envious of her closet…but now I have so much clothes, with what I do (selling vintage), I don’t even know how to organize it anymore! Well, I do! But it takes so much time, it hurts! So, I am not so envious anymore…but it would still be awesome to have a closet like that.

So today, I was inspired and wanted to dress like Cher and the layering was perfect because it was a little cold in the office. So here’s the outcome:

What I wore: Forever 21 cropped sweater vest – Thrifted long striped shirt dress – Forever 21 pleated faux – leather skirt – Nine West knee -high boots

The outfit combines everything I love! Leather, stripes and sweaters. Nothing better than to dress-up in a girly Cher inspired outfit to work without compromising the comfort and without suffering from the cold.

PS…another side note, as always, there will be someone in your surrounding hating on you. Anyway, point is, I got loads of nice comments on my outfit and a few bad ones and I sincerely couldn’t care less because I choose to dress for myself and not for others. What I am trying to say is, never dress to impress others, always do so for yourself and yourself alone. And If you are happy and confident with your outfit, then nothing else matters.

Until next time x

The over-the-knee boots edit

The knee-high boots trend has been hitting hard lately. All kinds of heights and all kinds of textures and materials…like, I wanna buy them all! Anyway, the over-the-knee boots became popular in the 15th century as men’s riding boots…but over the years, they became one the trendiest items in a woman’s wardrobe. I mean, it’s not every body’s cup of tea, but for those that love that trend, they’re available everywhere now. I guess that the only thing that could go wrong with these boots is that you end up looking trashy. You need to be careful how you style them and how you wear them.

I got my boots last winter from Nine West. They were on sale for 60$. I’ve always wanted to get some, but was scared it would either make me look like an Oompa Loompa or like Daisy Duke. However, when I came across these, I made the plunge. Why you say? Because of the heel!! The heel is boxy and it’s not too high. I can walk and stand in them for hours and not even feel them pinch.

What I love most about the over-the-knee boots trend is the fact that they’re super feminine and all kinds of sexy! In all the right ways! Especially when they’re in a beautiful, good quality, velvet material!

Since I purchased them last year, I always wore them with dresses or skirts. But today I decided to do the jean/boot smart look and I was super happy with the result. So here I am, documenting this historical moment (hahahah!).

I decided to let the boots be the focus, so I wore simple black jeans and a b&w striped shirt. I added some jewels and a colorful scarf for a little oomph!

What I wore in details

-Antique necklace from Jerusalem (which is available for sale).
-Thrifted striped shirt.
-Rachel Zoe jeans.
-Nine West boots.

I cannot get over these babies!!! They’re so beautiful and I love them so much that sometimes I feel like I shouldn’t wear them because they’re precious.

If you’re looking for a nice pair of knee-high boots, there are some really gorgeous ones on Asos, Nine West and Aldo that are currently on sale….

‘till next time!

Cheers x

Design Inspiration Style

Patching it up weekend style.

So I have been wanting to make these patched up jeans for a while but being busy and procrastinating sometimes gets in the way. As soon as I found myself less busy, I decided this is the right time to make an old jean of mine look rockin’.

I have had these boyfriend Forever 21 jeans for a while and wanted to embellished them my own way. So I turned to my favorite place to shop for patches and found this beautiful store that carries loads of cute and adorable patches. If you are looking to embellish something you own, I recommend you visit them. The service was great and the patches arrived on time.
