The tiger in me….

When it hits 34 ̊C, you know it’s time to really focus on dressing light; especially when it is humid. Luckily for me, Jericho is not humid and there’s a beautiful slight breeze to keep the air going. I had a small little rendezvous with the fiancé to finally have our invitations printed, so I figured I would dress a little but more “fancy” if you will…

Although my outfit was straightforward, it was still super fancy for a little outing in Jericho, but when has this ever stopped me from over dressing. I am currently in a touristy/visitor mode…haven’t settled in my new home just yet. The apartment we are renting is currently till under construction and I am going a million miles an hour trying to figure out the décor and design I want to go with. This is keeping me a little busy most of the time; hubs and I shopped furniture but we have yet to shop for the décor part of the house.

Anyway, back to the main part of this blog, which is my outfit…I was happy with the result and so here I am documenting it:

Can we all take a moment and admire how pretty my sandals are…they’re so Romy & Michele and that’s exactly the reason why I bought them.

What I wore:

SHIRT: Topshop ⊕ PANTS: Free People denim  ⊕ SANDALS: Topshop ⊕ SUNNIES: Kate Spade

I know I mentioned it before but I really do love Topshop for lightweight tops, it’s the perfect place to get dressy and comfortable shirts. Style will never be compromised when shopping at Topshop…oh and quality! It’s definitely there!

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!! Okay okay! I am so like totally head over heels in love with this skirt! I can’t even! Like so not even, if that makes any sense. For any extreme fashion lover out there, this piece is a definite must-have!

It’s an A-line midi skirt made with the nicest crepe fabric and is adorned with cute tinsel patches on the front. You can totes dress it up or dress it down. Wear it to the office or wear it for a night out. It’s black, so you can mix it and match it with any color or any texture. Just let you mind go and get creative! I got it for about 60$ for the Topshop website, but it’s on sale for 24$ right now and there’s a couple of sizes left.

I was schedule for meetings and so I wanted to make sure I looked professional yet fashionable. Ended up cancelling them and not going…I still looked cute though!

That 50s skirt…

This is a vintage item I cherish so so much. Not only for its rarity, but for its beauty, sexiness and femininity. This skirt was a random purchase a few years ago at a thrift shop. I saw it and I knew I needed it in my life. The tweed fabric offers opulence and elegance. I feel like a elegant rich old woman from the Upper East Side. So dramatic, haha, but so true! I sincerity feel like I can slay an meeting is this skirt and just rock anything I undertake. It such a special piece! I can’t even explain it! Youu gotta put it on to know what I mean! Plus, the colors in the tweed are awesome…there are specs of pink, of white and of yellow. This makes this piece so versatile and easy to style. You can just pick any color in the tweed to bring your outfit together and make it on point….

….annnnnddd, it is so on trend right now! So happy I own it! It’s a gorgeous 50s item and it’s made in Canada. Since I will be moving very soon, I sadly need to get rid of a lot of my items..and this baby is currently posted for sale on my Etsy page…plus it’s on sale!!

Sooo, anyway, this is how I styled my baby…

I wore this beautiful midi tweed skirt with my favorite feminine white Topshop shirt, Vince Camuto booties and a mustard veil to bring it all together and topped the whole look off with a bold red lip…obviously, because when you feel like a boss, you wear a red lip!

What I wore in details:

-Vintage midi tweed skirt
-Topshop white top
-Vince Camuto booties

This is definitely a look I wore wear often, especially if I have an important meeting or event, because it offers a certain je ne sais quoi. It’s funny to say, but our psychology completely does change when we wear something good. It changes our thoughts and our ideas about how we feel about ourselves. Whether we admit it or not, clothes and fashion make us happy; they makes us gain strength and confidence in ourselves and offers us a platform to express ourselves freely without limits or boundaries. The only limits out there are set by us through our fears and vulnerabilities.

Through clothes and through fashion, be yourselves and be your own. Do not let others set limits for you…break the boundaries and make yourselves happy and proud!

Su:m 37 Secret Essence.

I talked about Korean skincare in a previous post and how I also jumped on the k-beauty bandwagon to see what the hype was all about. So along with my other purchases, this was one I really looked forward to trying out because of how much hype it was getting.
It was compared to the SK-II facial treatment essence and I figured I could give it a go.
What is a treatment essence you say? Well, as an outsider looking in, I get overwhelmed because there are like a million steps in the k-beauty regimen. From eye serum, to lip serum, water essence, to leave in mask..and the list goes on. Asians are trained from a young age to take care of themselves and their skin in general as a preventative measure and I find that so inspiring and fascinating. That’s why most of the Asians I meet having amazing skin! To die for!
So, a treatment essence is the second moisturizing step in an Asian style routine after toning. They’re basically there to help your skin absorb moisture more to hydrate and plump it. When I first received the bottle, I was so impressed with the packaging, because I am a nerd like that! It feels luxurious in the hand. Unlike the SK-II essence, this one is a little more affordable and it is perfect to try it out as a “starter” to luxury brands.

This Su:m37 essence is filled with yeasts, beneficial bacteria and a larger number of beneficial plant ferments and extracts (it has over 80 fermented plants and vegetables extracts). The smell is wonderful, it smells so soothing and pleasant. It smells floraly and earthy. I quite enjoy it, but can see how others may not. This is a watery toner/essence. The texture is very much that of water, but a smudge more viscous. It’s also clear, and slightly yellow in appearance. It feels the skin super moisturized and happy. I like to use it at night right before my serums. I pat it in and leave it to dry completely and skin in before I go to my next step and sometimes, I find that this is enough for me and I go to bed.
I have been using this since the beginning of the November and I can see a difference in my skin. It feels more hydrated and more glowing in the morning. I use this in conjunction with my Youth to the People moisture cream. I still have loads of product left, because a little goes a long way. It costs 75.50$ USD for 100ml. So will I repurchase this? I would. But not anytime soon, because I have a few more products I am curious about to try out.

The time I dressed like a Mackintosh’s box…

I’ve always wanted to own a Tartan print dress. I was looking for ages to find the perfect one. I looked into vintage stores online and all around. I couldn’t seem to find the one And when you can’t find the one, well you never get over it. Anyway as I was about to give up my search to the ultimate tartan print dress, I stumbled on this one on the ESTY website. I was so excited! The color, the shape and the model I wanted. I mean, I could have made it myself, but I couldn’t even find the fabric to make my own dress. What I love the most about my tartan dress is the fact that it was made with love by another fellow designer in Ukraine. She was so kind to make it patiently and passionately for me. The only downside is that I got it later than I thought…shipping took forever to get. Regardless, I am still happy with the product and I got so many compliments on this little baby! Some one even told me I look like a Mackintosh Caramel box..haha! True!!

I was so happy with the outcome of my look, that I decided to share it with you! Here it is. Not only did I look like tasty caramels, I also look like Santa’s wife! HAHAHAH! With the tartan dress and green vintage coat.

Here’s the look and you can totes judge for yourselves…

This gotta be hands down my favorite outfit yet! I love how feminine I feel in this…super chic and fashion forward. The mix of handmade and vintage was the perfect opportunity for me to share what I love. And I absolutely adore that it’s not too tight and it’s midi length. Perfect all around. This is a piece that I can always count on, because I can wear it to any party. It’s a classic! Like Citizen Kane.

♥ ♥ ♥

What I wore in details:

-Playfashion dress.
-My friend’s vintage coat.
-Vince Camuto booties (yet again..haha! I basically wore them all month long!).
-Vince Camuto leather studded belt.

♥ ♥ ♥

I love supporting artists because I know how hard it is to make ends meet. If I like what I see, then I get super stoked to share people’s work because it helps them get more exposure. So yay to handmade clothing and an even bigger yay to vintage.

Until next time!!! Cheers x

The perfect daily SPF

I never was a SPF girl because I always thought it wasn’t necessary as long as I do not hang too much in the sun. But that has been quite impossible these past few months since I have been traveling a lot to the Middle East. My skin texture was affected way too much by the unprotected sun exposure. So I figured, it is really time to invest in a good SPF that will not break me out or leave a white cast on my face. A couple of weeks ago, I went into Sephora looking for that perfect SPF cream. There was a wonderful beauty adviser that showed me a couple, but ended up suggesting this one:

Clarins’ Multi-Protection Tinted Sunscreen is exactly what I have been looking for. I give me SPF 40 protection and a little tint without being too heavy or without making me look like I am wearing makeup.

It’s a super lightweight formula! It’s the perfect year-round, oil-free SPF 40 anti-pollution sunscreen. What I love about this is that it shields the skin from harmful UVA/UVB rays, pollution, and free radicals ANDDD it lightly covers the skin.

I got this at a local Sephora and unfortunately cannot find it online. The Sephora online website has the regular Clarins SPF (not tinted).  But it would be available here for those who are interested. You pay 42$ for 1.7oz. A little goes a long way and so, for the price, you get quite a bit of product. I have been using it for about 2 months now on a daily basis and still have loads left!

I recommend this product if you’re looking for a powerful sunscreen formula that acts as an slightly tinted shield. It will definitely help protect the skin from the appearance of dark spots and future aging. It delivers broad-spectrum protection and antioxidant defense. This formula is formulated without parabens and it is dermatologist tested! It is also oil-free which is perfect for those with oily and combination skin. It leaves you matte without too much shine.

The only small thing that I hate about this is that when my face is really dry, it shows too much on my cracked skin. So for those who suffer from dry skin need to moisturize deeply before applying this. Other than that, this is a great product to add in your skin regimen.

So if any of you are in the market for a new SPF, I recommend this little baby! You will not regret it!

Sweater weather

It’s finally sweater weather! I know it sounds crazy, but I am so happy it’s finally cold enough to wear sweaters. ‘Tis the season to be warm and snugly <3 This sweater in particular holds a special place in my heart because it’s the perfect combination of girly, feminine and warm. I almost never wear pink, I am either stuck with black or blue. I will throw in crazy colors once in a while or always opt for lined anything…But once in a blue moon, I’ll go for pink. I don’t particularly love it, but I do not discriminate…all colors are welcome into my closet with arms wide open. Anyway, back to the real purpose of this post! This beautiful sweater!!! When I first laid my eyes on it on the Forever 21 website, I was smitten by its cut, its shape and, surprisingly, color!  The bell sleeves caught my heart and I knew I needed this in my life! So I took a plunge and made this baby mine. It is still currently available on the Forever 21 website and runs for 39.90$.

I was an avid pink wearer way back when pink was my national anthem…meaning high school. But since then, I grew out of it and turned best friends with black, or grey, sometimes white…and most of the time a combination of all 3 in a lined piece.

Here’s how I decided to style this mock neck sweater and I am pretty content with the whole look…so I thought, perfect, I can document this!

What I wore:
-Forever 21 mock neck sweater.
-Thrifted tartan pants.
-Aldo shoes.
-Antique necklace from Jerusalem.
-Vintage bag.

Sweaters are like the gateway to my hearts..that and fries..okay and shoes. Those 3 things make me the happiest girl in the whole wide world.

What are the things that make you most happy?

Hope you guys like this look!

Have a wonderful week peeps xx

September Beauty Favorite!

Yesterday I shared my September fashion favorites and today I wanted to share my top 5 beauty favorites of the month. Products I have been giving extra love to. Although this month has been really rough on my skin, I have managed to keep things under control. For some weird reason, my skin is super super dry, which means it’s super prone to crack and break, which in turn mean it’s super prone to breaking out because dirt get in easy. This leads to me talk about my first favorite because it sincerely saved me from turning into a pizza face again.

  • GM Collin’s Hyrdamucin Optimal Serumimg_9733

This literally saved my scaly flaking skin! It made my skin’s textured less abrasive and less bumpy. My skin was lacking loads of moisture and this serum helped in restoring it. The serum is not too heavy and it has a gel consistency. It sinks into the skin beautifully, does not leave any oily residue and smells super wonderful. This is perfect for all skin types and is beneficial to drier skins because it reinforces the skin’s moisture barrier by hydration. The long lasting moisturization increases the skin’s ability recover and bam!!! you get smooth and healthy looking skin. I got this baby for about 65$ CAD but you can find it on AMAZON for a little cheaper.

  • Regenerative Nourishment Serum-in-Oilimg_9734

A super little product! It does what it promises to do. It totes rescues the hair and restores its healthy appearance. IT makes the hair so soooofft!!! I cannot tell you enough how soft my hair has become since using this. After I wash my hair, I spread three to four pumps of serum-in-oil between my hands and run them through my hair; I usually like to concentrate on the tips (which are usually the most damaged).  The little bad boy is a savior! You should try it and you will not regret it. And it’s not expensive! You can buy this in any pharmacy or right here.

  • Tea Tree oilimg_9746

Coming back to my naughty face…this little potent monster was a must for me this month. It kept the little white heads at bay and helped heal pimples without damaging my skin. When I say it’s potent, I mean it! And you need to be careful using this because it could damage you skin instead of helping it. I usually like to put some tea tree oil on little cotton pad, breaking it with warm water, and then leave the wet pad on the affected area for a little bit. You’ll see that you wake up the next morning and the stubborn pimples say goodbye. You can get this at any pharmacy and it’s not pricey or you can shop for some at AMAZON.

  • The perfect Bite Set & KAT VON D Studded Kiss lipstickimg_9737

And the award for best lipsticks goes to the perfect Bite set and Kat Von D’s Cathedral. I am cheating here and adding 2 lip products because I have been wearing these and only these this month. Between the lip kit and the studded kiss lipstick, I haven’t done anything else. The Bite Amuse Bouche lipsticks are divine!! They’re moisturizing, they have a creamy finish and they’re simply delicious. They’re comfortable to wear all day! My favorite out of this little kit is Pepper. It ‘s like my lips but better and I love it!!! Kat Von D’s cathedral is a beautiful borwny nudeish color which I have already spoken about in a previous blog post. They’re both sample sizes and I will definitely repurchase these in full size.

  • Sephora’s Waterproof eye makeup removerimg_9735

This is one is a solid! It removes your makeup flawlessly. Great product really. I got this as a sample but I love it so much, I might purchase this one in full size. It’s the best makeup remover I have used to date and it doesn’t hurt or irritate my sensitive eczema prone skin.  A tiny amount goes a long way and it’s affordable compared to other brands I have used in the past. The Sephora Waterproof Remover gets five stars on my end.

⊗ ⊗ ⊗

So these are the 5…6 beauty products I have been loving this month and I will continue to use on the daily. I am not much of a makeup user but I do adore my mascaras and lip colors. You will never (or almost never) see me use foundation, because I am not interested in blurring my skin. It’s not a judgement; it’s just a question of preference. But I do love to read everyone’s reviews about them…because it keeps me abreast of what’s nice out there.

What have you guys been loving this month?? Share them with me in a comment below!

Cheers x

Bananaaassss; delicious and nutritious!

I am not a super big banana eater but I love me some banana peels! Yes, banana peels!!! They’re super awesome to use for face masks. The peels have loads of benefits and are a great mask alternative for people who do not wish to buy anything or for anyone with skin sensitivities. Benefits in using banana peels include brightening the skin, reducing wrinkles, treating acne and even naturally moisturizing the skin.

Back when I had a major hormonal acne break out a couple of month ago, I used the peels to treat my face. For 2 weeks straight, I only cleansed my face and put on banana peel mask for half the day. Since bananas are natural, there is no harm leaving it on for a while, unless of course you’re allergic. Duh! I like to go about my day and do whatever I want to do but still have the mask on.  At the end of 2 weeks, my active acne started to calm and my scarring started to fade. So now whenever I have dryness and breakout problems, I opt to sleep with a banana peel mask on and then I wake up to amazing youthful glowing skin.

It is also really interesting to mix the banana peel with different ingredients that are also beneficial to your skin like lemon, avocado and more… My favorite mix is the following:

-Banana Peel.
-Raw honey.
-Turmeric powder.

* * * * * ** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I love honey because it contains antibacterial and anti-fungal properties which prevents bacteria to linger on the skin and that can leIMG_8517.JPGad to breakouts. Its anti-inflammatory properties will calm redness and irritation. Often times when I will use honey to help my skin feel fresher and hydrated.

Now, turmeric powder on the face sounds a little scary. But trust me, your skin doesn’t turn yellow. If you buy organic turmeric that is not just a generic street buy, you won’t have a problem. Turmeric helps clear acne, reduces inflammation and oil secretion. This has been used loads in country like India. It’s like a bridal ritual to use turmeric masks all over the body to purify and detoxify it.

You can do whatever mix you want. The beauty of it is that you’re not spending loads of money on skincare that may be unsafe for you. You’re just investing in nature’s goodness and this is the best this you can do. Healthy, glowy, younger skin without the use of harsh chemicals.

Whenever I pop a natural mask on, I will try to share it, like that it could be helpful to you guys.

Have you tried natural masks and if so, which ones?

Until next time xx

I was on the hunt for a gentle yet effective eye makeup remover for a little while…and when I went to the pharmacy and passed by the La Roche Posay counter, I found this baby: RESPECTISSIME WATERPROOF EYE MAKE-UP REMOVER. Let me tell you that by far, this is the best makeup remover I have used to date. It seriously removes everything in one gentle swipe. No tugging necessary and there’s no residue left!! None at all!!! And my eyes don’t burn after using this.

La Roche Posay is a good brand to use when you have sensitive skin because their products are super gentle; they’re fragrance-free and paraben-free.

This bi-phase make-up remover removes make-up instantaneously, effectively and without rubbing sensitive eyes. The formula is perfect to minimise the risk of intolerance on sensitive eyes. I bought this for about 25$ CAD and having been using it for 2 weeks now. I knew using this the first time, it would be a keeper. La Roche Posay is my go to brand when my face has eczema or allergic reactions.

It comes in a blue/white liquid form like oil/water consistency. Once you put some on a cotton pad and wipe your makeup off, there is no oil feeling left behind. On the contrary, you feel fresh and super squeaky clean.

If you’re looking to try out a makeup remover that won’t hurt your eyes yet still is superman effective, then this should be your pick!!

Have any of you tried this? What do you guys think?

Cheers xo
